allium “globemaster” is a cultivar, based on a. macleanii und a. christophii. its flower spikes can reach one meter in height. the flowerheads can measure 20 cm across.

the hardy plant ist used as a cut flower or garden plant and is suitable for sunny to partial shaded places. allium “globemaster” is blooming in late spring/early summer.

the native from turkey to pakistan allium oreophilum is showing its pink flowers in may/june. there seems to be no common name for this hardy ornamental onion. here in germany we call it rose leek.

allium oreophilum is suitable for a rock garden an does best if located in full to partial sun.
